Camping and Caravanning Club Certificate of Honour Nomination
Tamar District Association and the South West Region Council would like to nominate Phillip and Linda Hall for the Camping and Caravanning Club Certificate of Honour. Since joining the club in 1981, their enduring commitment and unwavering dedication have been a true inspiration to the entire Tamar DA community.
Over an exceptional 26 years of combined service on the Tamar DA committee (Phillip for 10 years and Linda for 16 years), both Phillip and Linda have played pivotal roles, including serving as DA Chairman (Phillip from 1993-96 and Linda from 2019-2022), along with various other responsibilities.
Their tenure as Chairman went beyond mere titles; it embodied a deep commitment to fostering a vibrant community and shaping the very identity Tamar DA. Their remarkable efforts in guiding their DA through significant milestones have been truly commendable.
Phillip's time as Chairman marked the celebration of the DA's 18th Birthday with a joyous meet at Newnham Park. The following year, he led the DA in a spirited 'Back to School' theme for the annual Summer Meet. During Linda's term as Chairman, she successfully navigated the DA through the challenges posed by the COVID pandemic, ensuring the DA could safely resume camping at the earliest opportunity.
A highlight in the DA's history occurred over 30 years ago when Linda, as CCJ leader, co-organised the unforgettable Hawaiian CCJ fundraising weekend at Liverton. This event, still fondly remembered by members, brought the community together for a memorable evening, raising funds for CCJ activities and inspiring future members to support and lead CCJ initiatives.
In recent years, both Phillip and Linda have been elected to the South West Region Council, where their commitment to fostering community spirit has continued. In their roles as regional councillors, they have actively supported various regional activities. Phillip's reputation as the regional catering officer is widely recognized, thanks to his delightful homemade cakes!
Notably, both Phillip and Linda have been instrumental in fostering a culture of active engagement through their participation in working parties for the National Feast of Lanterns and South West Region Summer Meets. Their fervent dedication to these events has propelled the DA’s growth and influence, ensuring that the DA’s community thrives beyond its boundaries.
Throughout their tenure on the Tamar DA Committee, Phillip and Linda have consistently demonstrated an unwavering dedication to the improvement of the DA and its members. Their infectious enthusiasm and leadership not only set an exemplary standard but also inspired others to actively participate and contribute; transforming Tamar DA into the vibrant community it is today.
In nominating Phillip and Linda Hall for the Certificate of Honour, we celebrate not only their individual journey but also the collective impact of their visionary leadership. Their individual legacies as Chairman will undoubtedly continue to inspire generations, highlighting the transformative power of passion, dedication, and active involvement.
It is with utmost pride and admiration that we, the South West Region Council, wholeheartedly endorse Phillip and Linda Hall for this prestigious honour. Their remarkable service to both the Tamar DA Committee and South West Region Council has left an indelible mark on our club's history, inspiring members to uphold the values and spirit of Tamar DA, South West Region, and the Camping and Caravanning Club for years to come.
