Updates on Temporary Holiday Sites, Weekend meets and meet booking, the AGM, the BCC Feast of Lanterns and the Tamar DA Dinner Dance.

Unfortunately the THS at Little Boldieve has been cancelled by the site. We still require stewards for first week of the Broadleigh THS. If you feel you could help contact Lin Hall, email sites @tamarda.co.uk please.

Our first meet of the 2021 season will be at Hendra holiday park and this can be booked by contacting Mike Weeks by email sites.tamarda@gmail.com or text to 07857 039417 It has been decided that you can also book pitches for Wooda(please note change of price to £15 pun) and Watergate bay as well. Facilities at Hendra will be limited to the Takeaway, and in following our club and government guidance there will be no social gatherings and own sanitation will be required at these first sites.

Unfortunately the meet at River Dart 14 -16 May has now been cancelled by the site as well the 5 day meet at Little Winnick 23 – 28 April.

For those of you that have registered to attend our virtual AGM on the 20 March, you should have received an information pack by email on the 10 March. If you have not received it please look in your SPAM folder as we have been having problems with some emails sent by our secretary. If you still do not have it, contact the secretary by email secretary@tamarda.co.uk

The Tamar DA Dinner & Dance will be at the Kilbirnie Hotel Newquay on Saturday 20 November this year. The menu and booking for the Dinner and Dance will be announced later but you can now book rooms with the hotel. A debit or credit card number will be needed and the full amount taken 48 hours before the booking.

The BCC Feast of Lanterns will be held at the Turnpike Showground Motcombe 26th – 31st August. Tamar DA are organising a block booking so that our members will be camping together. If you want to be part of this booking please complete the booking form and send with the relevant payment to Linda Hall. by the 20th June. Cheques to be payable to Tamar DA. Meets Cancellation

As you probably already realise after yesterdays announcement, we have no choice other than to cancel our weekend meets that start before 12th April. This includes Porth, Tencreek, Heligan, Broadleigh & Harford Bridge. Little Winnick was due to start after the 12th April but was previously cancelled by the site. We are very sorry to have to do this but hopefully you can join us later in the year. Stay safe! An updated meets list is shown below

Latest News on the 2021 Tamar DA Annual General Meeting

On behalf of the committee, please find an update regarding Tamar DA’s AGM for 2021.

Due to the government guidance and restrictions currently in place due to the Covid19 Pandemic, the committee has been asked by Head Office to hold this year’s Annual General Meeting virtually. This is to ensure that all members, who wish to attend, can attend safely.

The AGM will take still place on Saturday 20th March at 3pm and will now be held virtually, via Zoom. The members meeting that normally follows the AGM has been postponed until later in the season at a time when we are able to all meet up.

If you wish to attend the AGM you will need to pre-register by emailing the full name and membership number of those members attending, to secretary@tamarda.co.uk by Wednesday 3rd March 2021. Full joining instructions along with the AGM reports will be sent out to registered members 7 days prior to the AGM.

If you are unable to attend the virtual AGM and would like a copy of the AGM papers emailed to you prior to the meeting or have a question you would like posed to the committee, please email secretary@tamarda.co.uk. The deadline for the submission of questions is Wednesday 10th March 2021.

Do not forget its not too late to join the committee for the 2021 season, nomination forms are available via the Tamar DA website and the Chatter.

Tamar DA Annual General Meeting

Tamar District Association is part of the Camping and Caravanning Club and whilst providing affordable camping to it’s members also provides a social platform where people can meet and get to know each other and get out and enjoy the countryside.

As well as weekend meets and temporary holiday sites. Tamar District Association organizes social events such as entertainment at the Easter/Birthday meet, Children’s Christmas Party, Christmas Social, Charity nights, an Annual Dinner Dance as well as Youth and Junior events.

All of these things do not just happen, it takes a committee of members who spend some of their free time organizing these events and helping with the running of the club. It can be fun.

This year has been a little different but it has brought home how much we would miss Tamar District Association if it was not there.

On March 20th 2021 we have our Annual General Meeting and this year it will also be a little different. However we we will still need volunteers to join the committee as well as stewards to run the meets and Temporary Holiday Sites.

If you feel you may be able to help and enjoy being part of a team, please put yourself forward to join our committee and help run YOUR club.
