10th - 14th July

Devon DA hosted this years South West Region Meet at the glorious Powderham Castle venue close to Exeter.  Over 150 units attended the 4 day meet, 23 from Tamar.......which was the second largest turnout.

The weather was a little changeable, however, given the extreme wet weather we have had recently, it wasn’t bad at all.

‘Pirates’ was the theme for the weekend, and our DA didn’t disappoint.  We did look a sight, even so, everyone joined in.

We put forward a team for the usual sport and fun games, and did well indeed.  Winning the Volleyball was the highlight.....and well deserved it was.  We did well in the Boules and Tumbling Towers, with a last minute entry from Dennis and Sue nearly going all the way.

The fun games was full of highs and lows.  It was great to see (and hear) Karen Crago instructing (shouting) directions to three unwieldy sheep in the Treasure Hunt.  It was equally funny to see Sandy Skelly miss the bucket pretty much every time in the ball throwing game.  Despite much cheating from ALL the opposite teams, we achieved a very respectable third place!
