Latest Tamar DA Temporary Holiday Sites and Meets 2020 information.
 

The Tamar DA Committee have been working hard on your behalf to make sure we can enjoy the rest of this years season.

We are pleased that we can now continue to camp, albeit in a somewhat different way, and we will be relying on everyone’s good sense and adherence to the guide lines that have been set.

The following information is very much dependent on the progress of Covid 19 and the guidelines set by our government and the Camping and Caravanning Club. Please keep a close eye on the Tamar DA Facebook page and this Website for any changes.

Please note that there will be no or very limited toilet/shower blocks at the sites and we advise that own sanitation is essential.

Below is a list of Weekend Meets for the remainder of the season.

To comply with Camping and Caravanning Club requirements these will all be booked meets and you must book either by email to sites@tamarda.gmail.com or telephone/text to 07759066644. You will need to provide:- Your Name, contact phone number and membership number. Bookings will close one week before the start of the meet.

Carlyon Bay (St Austell) 11th – 13th September.

Pennymoor(Modbury) 25th – 27th September.

Wall Park (Brixham) 2nd – 4th October

Higherwell Farm (Stoke Gabriel) 9th – 11th October. Please note – The DA FOL will go ahead but under strict social distancing guidelines.

Halloween meet(Watergate bay) 30th October – 1 November. Further details to follow. Cornwall DA organizing.

Newnham Park (Plympton) 6th – 8th November. Cancelled. Due to the Covid guidance your Committee have decided to cancel this years Bonfire Meet at Newnham park.

The latest information on Tamar DA Temporary Holiday Sites is as follows:

St Minver – 3rd to 31st August – Bookings open by telephone 07707 048138 on the 1st July onwards between 10am and 7pm. Please do not ring outside of these times. Arrivals on site not before 2pm and leave by midday on your day of departure. Campers will be required to dispose of their own rubbish and recycling as these facilities will not be available.

Porth Beach – 1st to 19th September – Bookings closed – THS full. For any queries please email porthTHS@yahoo.com

Broadleigh Farm – 4th to 27th September – Bookings are open please contact the booking officer on 07526 084024. Unfortunately there will be no toilet or shower facilities available at this THS.

Newnham Park – 12th to 20th September – Unfortunately it is with regret that due to the Mayflower 400 celebrations not taking place, this THS has been cancelled. We hope to run a similar THS next year to coincide with the reorganised Mayflower celebrations..

Hendra – 23rd to 1 November – Further details will be available soon.

Following the publication by Head Office of the Green Paper 3.16 (Covid-19: Onsite Operational Procedures) the committee has implemented the following guidance to enable camping to re-commence in a way which is consistent with health and safety law and emergency coronavirus legislation.

All camping meets for the remainder of the season will follow the following key points:

  • A Meet and THS is a camp site by which each, member has a pitch, this is not a social gathering and no activities of social gathering are to occur on the camp site.
  • All members to observe social distancing procedures, following government guidance
  • All members are requested to observe hygiene and cleaning procedures.
  • Members should be reminded at all times to be mindful of the guidelines outlined by the committee/Steward to ensure all members and fellow campers are safe at all times.
  • Any member display Covid19 symptoms should not attend any THS or Meet.
  • Members are responsible for bringing their own hand sanitiser and cleaning items with them prior to arrival onsite.
  • Members to be made aware there are strictly no day visitors to any meet.

From the 1st August 2020, Tamar DA will run and operate THS’s and meets by implementing the following:

  • All THS’s and Meets will be booked meets.
  • Bookings for all THS’s are currently open and information is available via the DA website, Chatter and the Out and About.
  • Bookings for other meets will open one month prior to the meet, information on how to book will be made available via the DA Website, Chatter and Facebook page.
  • You may be asked to arrive at a THS or Meet within a timeframe to stagger arrivals and reduce the impact of many units and campers arriving at once.
  • PPE will be made available to all stewards for their use.
  • On arrival at the site the stewards will book all members, collecting contact information in line with the Governments Track & Trace guidelines. This information will be held for 21days.
  • Site fees will be required to be paid on arrival by cash.  Please bring the correct monies with you in a clear plastic bag along with your name and membership number.
  • Stewards will direct members to their pitch ensuring there is a minimum of 6 metres between units. Signage will be on display on site to remind members of social distancing.
  • Areas around Water taps and Chemical Disposal Point will be marked out, only one adult member should be within these areas at any time.

A reminder that social gatherings are not to occur while onsite, this applies but not limited to:

  • Communal BBQ’s other than within your camping group
  • Marquees for social group gatherings
  • Bingo / group games
  • Coffee mornings
  • Sports and team activities
  • Discos and group entertainment
  • Gatherings and/or social events are not permitted onsite unless within agreed Government social bubbles.
  • No members to gather in awnings or caravans (unless Government guidelines allow)

The committee will continue to review this information and implement updates in line with Head Office and Government guidance.
