It’s a ‘Cake Affair’ at Centry Park

The site at Centry Park received lots of positive comments from the small number of members who attended.  We had an enormous field, adjacent to the commercial park, all to ourselves with our own toilets and shower facilities.

The site was within walking distance of both The Berry Head Country Park and Brixham.

As is normally the case when Ian and Hazel Howe are stewarding a meet, there was a full program of events that you could either join in with or do your own thing.

On the Friday evening there was a general get together.  Saturday morning saw a mass invasion of Brixham with some completing a Murder Mystery and others just looking around.  Lunchtime refreshments were taken in a variety of establishments, guess which type was most popular?  During the afternoon the younger members convened in Hazel’s and Ian’s awning to produce a variety of comestibles including chocolate cakes, gingerbread men and Heart shaped biscuits with pink icing.  Later the Children sold their produce to raise money for our charity and made a respectable £14.10.

Later on a social evening took place in the awning with a variety of quizzes causing some heated but amicable discussion between the participants.   The evening was rounded off with hot roast potatoes!

The Sunday morning coffee saw Tommy (who had obviously got the fund raising bug) singing verses of ‘The wheels on the bus’.  The following collection made a total of £12.54. Fantastic!

The charity funds were further increased with a bonus ball sheet organised by Sarah Bunt.  The winner Dave Bunt generously donated his winnings to the charity as well.  Thanks Dave.

Check out a good selection of photos from the weekend here, including plenty of evidence of cake making fun!!!
