Newnham Park in the Sun

Newnham Park in the Sun

With our usual visit to Newnham Park, Plympton, Plymouth being our annual Bonfire Meet….it’s unusual for Newnham weekend meet campers to enjoy baking hot sunshine and dry grass.  Well indeed, that’s what the small attendees at our May visit to Newnham enjoyed.

DSCF0473Here’s a message from Hazel Howe:

What a weekend.  There was plenty of different activities on offer, as you can see from the photos.  The cycling team were out in force and managed to make the hills up onto the moors, not sure how many pubs were visited.  There was a hive of activity with the football supporters at 3pm on Saturday.  The walkers were in their element, and certainly put the younger ones to shame.
For the sun worshippers it was perfect until the largest swarm of bees ever seen decided to go to their summer home.  One word from Alan and suddenly every one was competing for the 100 metres dash.  Is this the start of the athletics group?
Four cooks sorted out the food for the communal BBQ, which was enjoyed by all.
The evening entertainment was certainly interesting with many topics discussed.  One very interesting point was raised by one member that Israel was in the EU because they are in the euro vision song contest, but I am sure that is not what I really said.
All 5 units had a really good time and thanks to Carol and Colin for stewarding.
Best wishes Hazel and Ian.
